Mumbai or Bombay is the capital of Maharashtra and is known as the Commercial Capital and the economic powerhouse of India. Mumbai was originally known as Bombay till 1996 is a cluster of seven Koli islands inhabited by fishermen -Mahim, Colaba, smaller Colaba, Mazagon, Worli, Parel, and Matunga. Mumbadevi is the goddess worshipped by the Kolis (fishermen). Its original name "Bombay" emerged from the Portugal term "Bom Bahai" meaning good bay or harbor. The Mumbaikars are famous for their style and the fashion statement in India begins with Mumbai. It is also the home to "Bollywood" the world famous film fraternity in India. Being the biggest commercial centre between Europe and Singapore, and Mumbai had always been a favorite with businessmen.
