Beijing is the capital of the People's Republic of China and is the nation's center of government, economy, culture, and international activities. Beijing has direct air connections to/from major cities in the world and many travelers make use of the direct Beijing-Hong Kong flights. Guangzhou and Shenzhen are both near Hong Kong and have direct domestic flights to Beijing where as Hong Kong is treated as an international flight.
